Tell me, am I to expect the same ritual humiliation as persisted during my previous visitation? I have so missed the opportunity to awake and discover I possess another's body or gills where none should be... Still, some prices are worth paying - just. A lesson, I am sure, which shall be sorely tested before my time here is at an end, once more.

I've been home twice since you were last here. [Her voice and face have gone hard; it's the only way she knows to discuss this without shaking.]

What is it, Morgana, that you would most wish for? Outside of your world, that is. Speak freely. I wish to know of it.

Because I wish to understand your inclinations. I find myself in wonder at why a mage in whom I find... Shards of a reflection, no matter how slight, should find herself here.

All I wish for is to leave. [It's vague at best, and that's how she prefers it. She doesn't want to be here, but there is no more life for her to return to.]

And if this were done? What then? Think beyond mere escape, Morgana... I ask what you would wish for yourself, were all things possible. What you feel would give you most satisfaction in life.

Incompetent, perhaps. Bickering, certainly. But a conspiracy against you? I think not... Nor do I have reason to misinform you. There was little co-ordination between wardens when last I visited and it seems just as rare now. They focus on their own problems, Morgana, not a fruitless quest to undermine you.

Nevertheless, I know not this Admiral's motives. I know only what I shall seek to do.

I am not that selfish, Morrigan, or that paranoid. I know what I see, and all I've seen here has been fruitless.

And what would you have your warden do, which they refuse to now? Had you been placed in charge of yourself... What would provide best response?

Nothing. I don't want his redemption.
